8/9 Notice regarding power outage and restoration issues at General Building II due to the installation of a new generator

Power outage and restoration time: 8/9 (Sunday) 08:00~17:00

Power outage and restoration areas: General Building II

Reasons and explanations for power outages and restorations:

1. Due to the annual maintenance shutdown of the No. 1 high-voltage substation, power connection to the water circulation pump of the generator in the General Building II and testing of the generator in the General Building II will be carried out. The construction sequence and impact are explained as follows:

  1. Between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, due to annual maintenance of the General Building II substation, General Building II will experience a power outage at 8:00 AM sharp. Power will then be supplied by an outdoor temporary generator, but only through the emergency circuit. There will be a short power outage during the transition.
  2. Between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, the generator water circulation pump in General Building II will be connected to the power supply. This process requires a complete power outage (the outdoor generator will also stop supplying power). The connection process will be completed within 20 minutes. After completion, power will be supplied by the high-voltage ATS via the F circuit, at which time the entire General Building II will be powered.
  3. After the new generator line is installed, the power supply via the F circuit will be disconnected, and power will be supplied by the new generator, but only through the emergency circuit. There will be a short power outage during this transition.
  4. After the maintenance of the No. 1 high-voltage substation is completed, power will be switched back to mains power, with a short power outage. Power will then be restored to the entire building.

2. During the power outage, departments-related units in the power outage area must unplug all computers and experimental equipment within their jurisdiction, and cut off the power supply at distribution boards and switch boxes to maintain electricity safety and avoid possible damage when power is restored.

3. Regarding the power outage, in addition to asking the relevant units in the power outage area to respond in advance, announcements will also be posted at the entrances and exits of each building and at the door of each elevator floor. If the repairing works are completed early, power will be sent out early. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the repairing works.

Please make preparations in advance

Sincerely,

Division of Construction and Maintenance
