8/9 Voltage Conversion Project: Equipment Hoisting and Exterior Wall Operations (General Building I: University Administration)

Duration: Sunday, August 9, 2026, 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM (17:00)(In the event of force majeure such as typhoons or heavy torrential rain that causes postponement, a supplementary notice will be issued.)

Affected Areas: Administration Building and its surrounding areas (including the basement).

Reason for Project:

In coordination with the main campus power system voltage conversion and upgrade project, hoisting operations will be conducted today to transport heavy electrical equipment into the basement of the Administration Building. During construction, workers will install fixed anchoring points (shackles/eyebolts) onto the exterior wall and deploy rigging lines to vertically hoist and lower the new equipment from the upper level into the basement plant room.

Important Instructions (Compliance is Mandatory for All Units, Faculty, Staff, and Students):

  1. Because the operations involve drilling into the exterior wall (for anchoring) and operating heavy machinery, intermittent construction noise and vibration will occur. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to faculty, staff, and students working or studying inside the Administration Building.
  2. Vertical hoisting operations carry high safety risks. The construction site—specifically beneath the hoisting shaft and along adjacent roadways—will be cordoned off with warning tapes, and dedicated personnel will enforce traffic control. For your personal safety, please take detour routes when passing the Administration Building. It is strictly forbidden to force passage or loiter beneath suspended loads.
  3. In the event of dust or debris generated during construction, the Division of Construction & Maintenance will closely supervise the contractor to ensure prompt cleanup and minimize the impact on the campus environment.

Your cooperation and understanding during this critical infrastructure upgrade are highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Division of Construction & Maintenance
