8/9 Pathway Closure and Pedestrian Detour Near Kuang-Fu High School Side (High-Voltage RMU Equipment Hoisting at Chemistry and Power Mechanical Engineering Building)

Location: Pedestrian pathway and surrounding areas adjacent to the Power Mechanical Engineering & Chemistry Building (specifically on the side facing Kuang-Fu High School).(Please refer to the red-framed restriction zone in the attached diagram below for the exact closure boundaries.)

Duration: Sunday, August 9, 2026, 08:00 AM – 10:00 AM(In the event of force majeure such as typhoons or heavy torrential rain that causes postponement, a supplementary notice will be issued.)

Reason for Project:

In coordination with the main campus power system upgrade, high-altitude hoisting for rooftop RMU (Ring Main Unit) high-voltage equipment will be carried out at the Power Mechanical Engineering & Chemistry Building. For this operation, a large mobile crane will be stationed on the neighboring campus (Kuang-Fu High School) to perform cross-campus heavy lifting. Because the crane's boom swing radius will overlap with our campus pedestrian pathway on the Kuang-Fu High School side, the entire pathway will be completely closed to all pedestrian traffic to ensure the safety of all faculty, staff, and students.

Important Instructions (Compliance is Mandatory for All Units, Faculty, Staff, and Students):

  1. On the day of operation, the pedestrian pathway on the Kuang-Fu High School side will be fully cordoned off with warning tapes. Unauthorized entry is strictly prohibited during construction.
  2. Cross-campus crane operations involve severe safety hazards. Pedestrians must not enter the restricted zone under any circumstances, must follow the detour directions of onsite safety personnel, and are strictly forbidden from loitering or gathering to watch underneath the crane boom or hoisting area.
  3. If any departments or individuals have temporarily stored items, materials, or bicycles along the pathway, flowerbeds, or walls, please relocate them prior to the operation to facilitate the entry of auxiliary support equipment and safety machinery.

This project is a critical upgrade to enhance the stability of the campus power grid. The Division of Construction & Maintenance sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure and appreciates your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Division of Construction & Maintenance
