10/14 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. Notice of power outage at the first and second high voltage stations

Power outage time: 10/14 (Saturday) 2:00~5:00 in the morning

Power outage areas: refer to the table below

Reason for power outage and things to keep in mind:

1. The campus’s cable from the second high-voltage station to the electrical room was damaged from October 9th to October 10th. It is currently expected to complete the material preparation and replacement of the damaged cable before October 13th (without power outage during this period). In order to reduce the impact of power outage on the campus daily life, a power outage will be scheduled from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. on October 14th (the temporary cables in the high-voltage panel will need to be removed during the power outage) to facilitate the change of power supply from the first high-voltage station to the second high-voltage station. During the power outage operation, the buildings in both districts will be affected.

2. During the power outage, departments and dormitory-related units in the power outage area must unplug all computers and experimental equipment within their jurisdiction, and cut off the power supply at distribution boards and switch boxes to maintain electricity safety and avoid possible damage when power is restored.

3. Regarding the power outage, in addition to asking the relevant dormitory units in the power outage area to respond in advance, announcements will also be posted at the entrances and exits of each building and at the door of each elevator floor. If the repairing works are completed early, power will be sent out early. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the repairing works.

4. Please save electricity until early morning in the Saturday. Please avoid turning on unnecessary equipment, especially indoor air-conditioning, turn off/reduce the use of high-power-consuming equipment, and stop unnecessary electronic equipment, because the second high-voltage station is still supplying power to the building. One high-voltage station supplies power, but the first high-voltage station has its load current limit. Overloading will cause a power outage throughout the campus.

Repair time: It is expected to be repaired within 3 hours (but it still depends on the on-site emergency repair situation).

Please make preparations in advance

Sincerely,

Office of General affairs and Division of Construction and Maintenance
