Emergency Repair Notification for the First High Voltage Station (D Circuit) Affected Buildings (Ya, Hui, Jing, Wen Halls, and Engineering Building)
Power Outage and Restoration Time: January 6, 2025, from 5:37 PM to 7:44 PM (Snack Bar, Electrician Room, and Ming Ping Shan Hall have been restored) and at 9:33 PM (Ya, Hui, Jing, Wen Halls, and Engineering Building have been restored).
Affected Area: First High Voltage Station (after Humanities and Social Sciences College on D Circuit), with details of affected buildings provided in the power supply structure diagram.
Reason for Power Outage:
The first high voltage station at our school experienced a ground fault due to overcurrent in the main switch, resulting in a power outage in the supply area of the ABCD circuit. After emergency repairs on January 6 at 6:47 PM, all circuits except for the D Circuit buildings (as noted) were immediately restored.
Further emergency repairs on the D Circuit revealed that power was restored to the first section (Snack Restaurant, Electrician Room, and Ming Ping Shan Hall) at 7:44 PM on January 6. The second section (Ya Hall, Hui Hall, Jing Hall, Wen Hall, Security Station, and Engineering Building) was restored at 9:33 PM. Buildings still without power include Humanities and Social Sciences College, Life Sciences Building 2, Life Sciences Building 1, and Biotechnology Building; repairs are ongoing.
During the power outage, all relevant units in the affected area must ensure that all computers and experimental equipment are unplugged, and that power to distribution panels and switch boxes is disconnected to maintain electrical safety. This will also help prevent potential damage to equipment when power is restored. If repairs are completed early, power will be restored sooner; we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your unit.
Note: Buildings on the D Circuit include: Snack Restaurant (including Student Office by Chenggong Lake), Ming Ping Shan Hall, Ya Hall, Hui Hall, Jing Hall, Security Station, Engineering Building, Humanities and Social Sciences College, Life Sciences Building 2, Life Sciences Building 1, and Biotechnology Building.
Please ensure that relevant units take necessary precautions.
