Annual Maintenance & Inspection Notice for High-Voltage Substations (Main Campus, 2026)

20260803 Final Schedule Revision: Notice of Annual High-Voltage Substation Maintenance and Power Outage (Main Campus, 2026)

Locations Affected: Please refer to the schedule table and explanations below. (Note: The previously scheduled outage on August 22 has been completely canceled for all listed buildings.)
Duration: Please refer to the schedule table.

Reason and Explanation for Crucial Schedule Revision:

The annual routine maintenance for the university's MOF2 circuit was successfully executed and completed yesterday (August 2). Since the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), Life Science Building I, Life Science Building II, and the Institute of Biotechnology all belong to the MOF2 circuit, the technical teams simultaneously entered these four buildings yesterday (August 2) and fully completed all maintenance work.

To minimize the impact of repetitive power outages on campus research and teaching, the final revised schedule is updated as follows:

  • Saturday, August 22, 2026
    • Originally Scheduled Buildings: College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), Life Science Building II, Life Science Building I, and the Institute of Biotechnology. The power outage for this day is COMPLETELY CANCELED. Power will be supplied as normal.

Reason for Outage:

  • Scheduled annual maintenance and safety inspection of all high-voltage substation facilities and equipment across the campus.
  • During the outage, all departments, institutes, and dormitory units within the affected areas must unplug all computers and laboratory equipment, and power supplies at distribution boards and switch boxes should be disconnected for safety and to prevent damage during power restoration.
  • Physical notices will be posted in addition to this email. If work finishes early, power will be restored without notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • The end times in the schedule are estimates based on inspection progress.
    • Early Completion: Power will be restored early without further notice.
    • Unforeseen Delays: Restoration may be delayed if emergency repairs are needed.
  • If you have scheduled important meetings or activities during this time, please assess the impact and consider a backup plan or rescheduling due to potential changes in work progress or restoration times.

Your cooperation in preparing for this outage in advance is greatly appreciated.
